Central Vacuum Advantages- HEALTH

How is a Central Vacuum System healthier than a standard portable vacuum?
By design, a portable vacuum’s motor is right in front of you as you vacuum – exhausting dust particles, dander, allergens and other fine particulates back into your home. A Central Vacuum System from H-P, however, typically has its power unit located outside of the main house (i.e. basement or garage) and most systems exhaust outside of the home, so none of these unhealthy particulates recirculate into the home.

Do H-P Filtered Cyclonic units have to be vented outside?
Most people do vent to the outside although it is not really necessary since the dual filtration process assures that vacuum dust and debris are contained within the system.

How does a central vacuum system help create a healthy home?
With 3-5 times the suction and power of uprights, H-P Central Vacuum Systems capture 100% of all vacuumed dirt, dust, odors and allergens. Traditional vacuums spread these particles and allergens around your home and recirculate them into the air you breathe. The power of H-P Central Vacuums eliminates microscopic particles and allergens for a cleaner, healthier interior environment.

What are the health benefits a homeowner can expect?
According to the EPA central vacuums vented outdoors can help decrease exposure to dust mites and other contaminants. A University of California-Davis School of Medicine study has proven that central vacuum systems can improve indoor air quality and reduce allergy symptoms by as much as 61%.

Is indoor air quality really that important?
Yes. According to the American Lung Association, people spend 90% of their time indoors. Today’s homes are tightly sealed for energy efficiency reducing air exchange and trapping indoor air pollutants caused by building materials, furnishings and household cleansers. H-P Central Vacuums remove 100% of vacuumed dirt, dust, odors and allergens, keeping pollutants from recirculating in the home.

Central Vacuum Advantages- POWER

Will the system maintain its power over time?
The powerful performance of an H-P Central Vacuum does not decrease as dirt accumulates in the dirt canister. H-P’s bagless Cyclonic Filtration Technology (CFT) assures the vacuum works at full power.

What is Cyclonic Filtration Technology (CFT)?
Cyclonic Filtration Technology is a dual filtration process guaranteed to deliver maximum cleaning power. CFT begins with Cyclonic Separation, a filtration method that uses physics to remove dirt particles from an air stream rather than bags or filters.

What are the benefits of CFT?
CFT ensures sustained cleaning power, 100% of the time.  In independent testing, units with permanent cloth filters lost cleaning power after picking up just a small amount of test dirt. H-P Filtered Cyclonic units showed a minimal performance drop before stabilizing at 94%. Filtered Cyclonic performance will return to a like-new condition once the filter is replaced. Permanent cloth filter systems, even those with coatings like GOR-TEX and Teflon, cannot be restored to like new condition once dirt and dust are embedded in the filter. Coatings may help reduce embedded dirt, but do not eliminate it.

Why is central vacuum so much more powerful?
If a portable vacuum had a comparable motor, you wouldn’t want to push it through the house. The genius of central vacuum systems is putting a powerful vacuum unit in a stationary location and allowing access to this powerful vacuum from the inlets located throughout the home.

Central Vacuum Advantages- CONVENIENCE

How does a central vacuum compare to portables in performance?
With up to five times the suction and power of uprights, H-P Products Central Vacuum System capture 100% of all vacuumed dirt, dust, odors and allergens. After vacuuming with most uprights, it’s typical to smell odors and see dust particles reflected in the sunlight. Traditional vacuums spread these particles and allergens around you home and recirculate them into the air you breath. The cyclonic power of a central vacuum from H-P eliminates these odors and dust particles for a cleaner home with cleaner air.

How does a central vacuum compare in convenience?
With an H-P Central Vacuum System, there is no heavy equipment to lug around. A lightweight, flexible hose, wands and attachments will reach even the tightest spots and furthest corners of the home. Homeowners can plug the hose into the nearest inlet for easy and convenient cleaning.

Is it easy to move the hose from room to room?
Yes. Hoses are lightweight, durable and specially reinforced to resist crushing and kinking. They are 1-3/8” diameter for maximum airflow and feature a comfort grip handle with a 360-degree swivel for ease of use.

Can I use the system in the garage?
Yes. If the power unit is located in the garage, you simply use the convenient on-board valve (Filtered Cyclonic) to attach the hose or you can elect have an inlet valve located in the garage. You can use the system to easily clean vehicles, golf carts, RVs, boats and workshop areas, without the hassle of transporting a shop vac or portable vacuum.

Central Vacuum Advantages- VALUE

Is an H-P Central Vacuum System worth the cost?
The average consumer has 4 vacuum products in their home at one time. The cost of maintaining and replacing portable vacuums can exceed the one-time cost of a central vacuum installation. However, the real cost benefit happens over time. A central vacuum saves money by prolonging the life of carpeting, drapes and furniture and adding to the resale value of a home.

What are the benefits of owning a central vacuum?
A central vacuum system does a better job of cleaning because it has a more powerful motor. It creates a healthier home because it picks up dust and allergens a traditional portable vacuum cannot. A central vacuum system is also quieter since the power unit is located outside the home’s living space. Central vacuum owners appreciate the system’s versatility and convenience.
